Toronto’s Dazzling Jazz Age Flappers

FlappersThe Sugar Shakers are a 1920s and 1930s solo Charleston Flapper performance group. We specialize in vintage jazz/charleston and are sought after for vintage-themed events, such as edgings, parades, music events and modern day speakeasies. Private or group flapper dance classes are also available for the vintage-curious and conneseurs alike.

The Sugar Shakers have performed, competed and entertained in and outside of Toronto at Festivals, Competitions, Private Functions and on stage.  You may have seen them at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Taste of the Danforth.

The Sugar Shakers originally formed in 2007, created by Joanna Kassoulides and Lana Lelchuk as a performance group. The troupe expanded even further by 2009 with “Shake that Sugar Flapper” classes at the Dovercourt House, which ran though 2013.
